These are just a few of the events that the Northern Beaches Social Riders have been up to.
Wasdale Street Christmas Party, November 2010
What a welcoming we received! With some twenty bikes we had arranged to bring Santa along with a police escort
to the Wasdale Street Christmas Party. The sounds of the children cheering & the laughter could be heard over the
noise of the police car & bikes. Santa greeted all the children, handed out presents while the residents took the time
to come & say ‘hi’ to the members.
On behalf of all the members of NBSR we presented Rob with a cheque for $5,000 for the Maternity Ward & the
Children’s Ward of Mona Vale Hospital. In return we were presented with a magnificent thank you card signed by all
the kids of Wasdale Street. Thank you to all the residents of Wasdale Street that made us all feel so welcome.

Christmas Party, December 2010
This was held at the Belrose Bowling Club once again & what a great night. The atmosphere was full of the festive
season & the theme this year was a ‘Pyjama Party’. There was great food, music, lots of laughter & great company,
this was a fantastic way to end a really busy & successful year.
Goodooga Kids Ride, January 2011
Gathering at Narrabeen Lakes we were introduced to the kids from Goodooga. We set off to Palm Beach & then
off through the National Park where the screams of excitement could be heard at every corner. All the kids were so
enthused with smiles from ear to ear, they did not want to get off.
What an amazing day & a real privilege to take a
group of young adults, a group of amazing Ambassadors from the
Brewarrina Shire for a ride.
Brewarrina & Goodooga you should be proud.

Ride To Wollongong Via Stanwell Tops, February 2011
A gorgeous sunny & hot start to the day made for a perfect day for a ride. We started out with a good gathering
at the Terrey Hills Tavern with members & guests all eager for a good long ride. The ride through the Royal National
Park was absolutely beautiful with so much to look at, it was so serene, fresh, green, lush & amazingly breathtaking.
Then after a two hour ride we had a nice relaxing lunch at the Headland Hotel, with a cold refreshing drink, a big stretch
& for most, relief from numb bottoms!! A very enjoyable ride.
Easter Raffle, April 2011
In addition
to our usual meat tray raffles being sold on a Thursday night at the Terrey Hills Tavern we also held an
Easter Raffle. With the generosity of members & the public we were able to put together some baskets full of goodies.
Thank you to all for helping us raise money to help brighten the lives of young children.
Goodooga Easter Long Weekend, April 2011
We went everywhere, Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange, Wellington, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Gulargambone, Coonamble, Walgett,
Lightning Ridge, GOODOOGA, Wee Waa, Narrabri, Gunnedah, Werris Creek, Quirindi, Murrurundi, Scone, Muswellbrook, Singleton, Sydney.
What a great weekend away, we experienced a different cuisine, amazing sunrises, the Lightning Ridge Easter carnival
where a few of us came off a little worse for wear after some of the rides, we went to the Kane Mason Memorial Football Carnival & a welcoming Corroboree where we donated a $2,000 cheque to the Goodooga Kids Youth Centre on behalf
of all our members. T hank you to the Goodooga community for your hospitality & friendships.

Country With A Kick, May 2011
This event is put on by the Northern Beaches Country Music Club at Balgowlah RSL every month to raise awareness &
funds for the fight against cancer. With some boot scootin’, line dancing & lots of fun, it is a great way to catch up with
one & other.
War Vets Open Day, June 2011
This has become an annual event for our club. Meeting at the Terrey Hills Tavern, we were all keen to provide some of
our cherished Veterans with a day they would be talking about for a while. Upon arriving & with all doors open, it enabled
us to get the bikes into the rooms & allow those who wanted their picture taken on a bike to do so. This was a great
opportunity to sit down & get to know some of the residents & listen to their amazing life stories.
Mystery Night, July 2011
What do you get when you add sheep, an emu egg, a guitar, a bonfire, plenty of food & around 50 good friends?
A great night!
The night began as a mystery, gathering at Terrey Hills Tavern we headed down to the farm in Warriewood. With
the fire alight, it wasn’t long before the night was in full swing. Plenty of comedy on hand & laughter that could be
heard all around.
Barefoot Bowls, August 2011
A perfect day with plenty of sun, members & guests turning up for our annual Barefoot Bowls competition at Willoughby.
Once divided into teams the game began, with yelling of encouragement by the skippers & the laughter by the
competitors, cheering could be heard for miles.
Memorial Rides, September 2011
This month saw us remembering two of our much loved members who are no longer with us. With current & past
members gathering together it was a nice way to celebrate the lives of our lost brother & sister, never to be forgotten.
RIP – Return If Possible
Blood & Guts Run, October 2011
A picture perfect day with blue skies & a slight warm breeze we set off for our fifth annual ride to the Nepean Donor
Centre in Jamisontown to donate blood. Everyone was in fine form, plenty of laughter & jokes going around, the BBQ
was cranking, a few rides had & bellies full of milkshakes & muffins. This visit brought NBSR’s total to 89 donations
made to date, which could save the lives of 267 people.

This is one of our busiest months for fun…raising. These market days achieve numerous achievements not only in
raising money for our chosen charities but also the way our members all work as a team, together with the fun we all
have along the way.
